Prof. Dr. Patrick Bräutigam is a technical environmental chemist with a specialization in water technology. He studied chemistry and economics and then completed his doctorate in technical environmental chemistry. He has been Professor of Technical Environmental Chemistry and Sensor Technology at the University of Stuttgart since 2024.
His research focuses on technical environmental chemistry and relates to the areas of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, corresponding process engineering, sensor technology, environmental analytics and artificial intelligence, especially with regard to new classes of pollutants such as organic micropollutants or microplastics and corresponding innovative cleaning processes.
