How to find us
By car

At the Stuttgart motorway junction take the A831/B14 towards Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
Take the S-Vaihingen exit, keep right and turn right at the traffic lights onto Hauptstraße.
Follow the main road and after a few hundred meters turn left into Heerstraße.
At the next traffic light turn left into Katzenbachstraße, which becomes Büsnauer Straße.
Follow Büsnauer Straße through the roundabout to Büsnau.
In Büsnau follow the signs and immediately turn right into Kaindlstraße.
Follow Kaindlstraße and turn right again to Bandtäle.
The institute is located at the end of the street. -
Information for truck drivers:
If you are coming from the other direction (Magstadter Straße), please do not immediately turn left into Kaindlstraße. Here the street is usually parked with cars on both sides and too narrow for trucks. Please drive to the intersection Büsnauer Straße/Ob dem Steinbach Kaindlstraße before turning left into Kaindlstraße.At this intersection there is also a sign to ISWA/Lehr- und Forschungsklärwerk.
By train
From the "Hauptbahnhof", "Stadtmitte" or "Feuersee" stops, take the S-Bahn S1 (Herrenberg), S2 or S3 (both airports) to the "Universität" stop and walk to the institute (approx. 15 min) or take the bus lines 84 (direction Sindelfingen) or 92 (direction Leonberg) to the "Am Schattwald" stop.
The bus stops "Am Schattwald" (lines 81, 84, 91, 92, 746, 747 and 748) or "Ob dem Steinbach" (lines 81, 84, 91 and 92) are about 5-10 minutes on foot from the institute.
Arriving by plane
The S-Bahn station at Stuttgart Airport is on level 1 (signposted with S). A ticket must be issued before entering the platform. The orange ticket vending machines are located directly in front of the escalator. A ticket for 2 zones is required to travel to the University/ Vaihingen area. Enter the code "002" using the keyboard of the ticket vending machine and pay for the ticket by cash or card. On the platform, take the S-Bahn line S2 or S3 in the direction of "Hauptbahnhof" and get off at S-Bahn station "Universität ".
